The production of 'Pirates of Penzance at BAB21 was attended by the Senior German Officers of the Camp.   Also attending was Capt, Dr John Borrie.  37751 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force. POW 23912.   He was captured in Greece.  Dr Borrie came from Dunedin NZ.

After the war Dr Borrie wrote a book 'Despite Captivity'  In the book he mentions attending the performance of 'Pirates of Penzance.  He wrote that the production was excellent and equalled any of the shows he had seen in the West End prior to the war.

At the end of the war Dr Borrie returned home and had a distinguished Career.
